Artistic and creative in fashion: Anton Black

The word timeless has been used throughout the years to represent those items and ideas that are not bound by a particular date or location. These are the concepts and pieces that live beyond their contemporaries, pushing through seasons or trends to achieve a status that is untouched by popularity or the fluctuating opinions of the media. Timelessness can be found in any area, from fashion and character to entertainment and philosophy. Regardless of the medium, there are no disciplines that are immune to the potential for being timeless, but some are more prolific than others.

Art and fashion have gone together since humans began to see clothes as more than just a way to block weather. From a chief’s great furs to a Tom Ford original, real fashion has always been art and real art is always in fashion. Asking if being artistic is fashionable is like asking if professional basketball players are athletic; it is more than two related points when they are intrinsically connected. There may be a faction of society that rebels against a particular brand of artistry, but they are only further proving the point. Fashion, like art, is a reflection of life. It is painting yourself with material and living as your own piece. Can being artistic go out of fashion? Not so long as fashion still exists.
